Little Arabia — Sukhumvit Soi 3

Sukhumvit Soi 3, nicknamed Little Arabia (or Soi Arab), is Bangkok's densest concentration of Middle Eastern restaurants, shisha lounges, and Arabic-signed shops — a few minutes' walk from Nana BTS station. For a first-time GCC visitor, it's the fastest way to eat familiar food, hear Arabic spoken on the street, and find a prayer-friendly restaurant without planning ahead.

The soi and its side alleys pack in Lebanese, Egyptian, Syrian, and Gulf-style restaurants alongside shisha cafes, Arabic grocery stores, money changers with Arabic signage, and a few short-stay hotels that cater specifically to Middle Eastern guests. It functions as a genuine expatriate and tourist enclave, not a themed strip built for photos.

Best suited to travelers who want a home-base feel in the first day or two of a trip — familiar cuisine, Arabic-speaking staff at several restaurants, and an easy walk to Nana Plaza and Sukhumvit's mall corridor. It is not the cheapest halal food in Bangkok (that's Ramkhamhaeng); it's the most convenient for a Nana/Sukhumvit-area stay.

Not every restaurant on the soi carries a CICOT certificate — many are self-declared halal via Middle Eastern ownership rather than audited. Cross-check a specific listing's halal signals before assuming certification. Shisha lounges here are legal but keep in mind Thailand's indoor-smoking and alcohol-service rules vary venue to venue.
