Jum'ah prayer at Bangkok mosques

Friday Jum'ah prayer is the central muslim worship event of the week. Bangkok has roughly 175 mosques across the metropolitan area, but a handful dominate as the main Jum'ah destinations for travelers. Visitor expectations are simple: arrive 20-30 minutes early, dress modestly, bring socks if floors are wet from wudu, and follow the local imam's khutbah (sermon — usually delivered in Thai with some Arabic).

Charoen Krung Road 90. The most historic mosque in Bangkok, accessible by Saphan Taksin BTS. Old wooden building with strong community feel. Khutbah in Thai. Easy walk from major Chao Phraya river hotels.

Off Sukhumvit Road, walking distance from BTS Asok. Modern facility, large capacity, popular with the expat-muslim community. Khutbah sometimes available in English or Arabic — confirm with the imam in advance for visitor accommodation.

Older mosque near Foundation. Smaller but with strong community engagement. Worth visiting after Jum'ah — the surrounding muslim neighborhood has excellent halal food.

Indonesian community mosque. Khutbah in Indonesian + Arabic. Welcoming to international muslims. BTS Phra Khanong.

Jum'ah in Bangkok runs 12:15-13:15 typically. Adhan (call to prayer) ~12:15, khutbah ~12:30-12:55, formal prayer ~13:00. Bangkok traffic spikes 11:45-12:15 near mosques — allow extra travel time.
